JoCo 26 mm coconut charcoal, 1 kg (≈64 cubes) is natural coconut-shell hookah charcoal made in Indonesia. Dense cubes give even, long-lasting heat without overpowering the flavour of your blend.

Consistent heat — the cube warms the bowl evenly.
Clean flavour — no quick-light coating or off-odours.
Low ash — keeps its shape for the whole session.
Works with foil, Kaloud, and other HMDs.

Why 26 mm: the larger cube gives stronger, longer heat — ideal for heat-resistant blends, larger bowls, and long sessions.

⚠ Light and use charcoal only with good ventilation: burning charcoal produces carbon monoxide.

How to use

How to light it properly

Place the cubes on an electric hot plate or coil burner at full power.
After a few minutes, turn them with tongs so every face heats up.
Wait until the cube is glowing red on every side and covered in light-grey ash, with no black patches.
Tap off the ash and move the charcoal onto the foil or HMD.
Let the bowl warm up for 4–7 minutes, then start with gentle draws.

Full ignition takes about 8–12 minutes, depending on burner power and the number of cubes.

Heat management

Place the coals near the edge of the bowl for even heating.
Harsh taste — remove the HMD lid or take away one cube.
Weak smoke — move the coals inward or briefly close the lid.
Rotate the cubes every 10–15 minutes and clear excess ash.
Don't blow on partly lit charcoal over the bowl — ash will get into the blend.

Storage and safety

Keep the pack tightly closed and dry — damp charcoal cracks and goes out.
Ventilation only: carbon monoxide is colourless and odourless.
Use long tongs and a non-combustible surface; never leave the burner unattended.
Never light charcoal in a microwave or an enclosed space.
After the session, extinguish the charcoal in a metal container and let it cool fully.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose 25 or 26 mm?

	25 mm	26 mm
Cubes per 1 kg	≈72	≈64
Heat	moderate, easy to dose	stronger and longer
Best for	most bowls and setups	larger bowls, heat-resistant blends

How many cubes should I use?

Usually 2–3. Start with moderate heat and adjust for your bowl, blend, and HMD.

Can I light it with a regular lighter?

No. Coconut charcoal needs sustained, even heat — use an electric hot plate or charcoal burner.

Why does the charcoal go out or turn black underneath?

Usually it's under-lit, short of airflow, or damp. Light every side fully, keep HMD vents clear, and store charcoal dry.
