Flavour profile
Watermelon leads with a fresh, juicy impression. Its watery fruit character keeps the blend light and gives it a distinctly summery direction. Melon follows with a softer, sweeter note that rounds out the flavour and prevents the profile from feeling too thin.
Mixing ideas
- Citrus flavours. A small citrus addition can contrast with the sweetness and make the overall impression feel brighter. Keep it restrained so the citrus does not cover the watermelon.
- Berry flavours. Berry notes may add extra fruit depth and make the blend feel fuller. Start with a modest amount because berries can quickly become the dominant accent.
- Mint or a cooling profile. A little cooling flavour can underline the refreshing side of the fruit. This is an idea for personal experimentation, not a manufacturer-stated recipe.
- Additional melon or watermelon notes. Closely related flavours can reinforce the main fruit character. Too much similarity may reduce contrast, so change the proportions gradually.
DarkSide - Torpedo (250g) works neatly on its own as a refreshing summer fruit option.
Packing, heat and storage
- Stir the tobacco in the tin so the syrup is evenly spread.
- Pack the bowl loosely and leave a gap to the foil or heat device.
- Start with moderate charcoal and heat the bowl gradually.
- If it turns bitter or harsh, remove some charcoal and let the bowl cool.
- Store sealed, away from direct sun and heat.
